I see Hornig is offering a lowering kit that reduces height of seat, by adding a part to the shock. not sure yet how that works. about E140 euros.
Kind of like a "slammed" GS. He is really short- 26" inseam. He originally had the OEM "lower" seat from day one, had boots resoled with an extra inch added to the soles, and still struggled with the height. Not anymore- he loves the new shocks. He is still using the lower seat.
24,098. The seat mounting on the R1150R is not adjustable. But, two seats are available from BMW for that model. Purchasers of new bikes in 2003 had the choice of the standard seat or the low seat. Used seats show up from time to time, and the seats are still available from BMW dealerships too.

15 posts · Joined 2014. #17 · Aug 11, 2014. You get the low seat option free on F800GSA-T these days. On a standard GS model one has to pay a bit extra to get it to 820mm from 850mm (standard also free of charge). You will have to compromise on no ESA and no central stand when lowering to 820mm.
